Works from the National Czech and Slovak Museum will be on display beginning in June.Whether looking for inspiration or a grant master
nice place to explore amazing artwork, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art offers a wonderful glimpse at artwork created by local and world renowned artists. The Art in Roman Life exhibit features more than 20 Roman busts as well as glass vessels and ceramic lamps. Four galleries are dedicated to the master printmaker Mauricio Lasansky featuring his colorfulCedar Rapids Museum or ArtNeighborhood: DowntownCedar Rapids, IA 52401United States of America and fresh prints that were created by using distinct graphic techniques. In August, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art will feature a unique exhibit entitled River of Words: IowaPoetryIowa. The exhibit will feature a variety of whimsical and enlightening works of art focused on the circus theme. A collection of work from John Buck entitled Iconography is currently on display through August. Grant Wood :In Focus will honor the artistic achievements of this historic American artist and will feature some of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art’s permanent collection of Grant Wood works of art. Upcoming Exhibits at this Eastern IowaUpcoming exhibits include Under the Big Top: The Circus in Art which celebrates Iowa’s involvement circus development. The exhibit features over 60 works that include a full-array of his work from large-scale sculpture, prints and glass and wood works. Their current exhibition includes plaster and bronze works works from Malvina Hoffman , New York born artist. Visitors can also explore what life was like for the Romans. As the National Czech and Slovak Museum was impacted by the Floods of 2008, many of their artistic pieces will be on display for visitors to view.
